We use BioPak, the first packaging company in Australia and New Zealand to become carbon neutral. They strive to minimise any negative impacts their business has on the environment. Sustainable and responsible manufacturing is at the core of what they do, that’s why their production facilities are certified to ISO environmental, quality and food safety standards.

PAPER

With so many packaging products made from paper, it’s important to ensure our forests are not irreparably damaged in the creation of paper-based packaging. BioPak take great care in selecting paper suppliers that have proven sustainable practices. Well-managed forests support environmentally sound forestry, helping to preserve valuable resources for future generations. All their paper products are made from Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleached fibre. They do not use elemental chlorine gas during the paper bleaching process and this prevents the formation of dioxins and carcinogens.

BIOPLASTIC

Conventional single-use cold cups like plastic drinking cups and cutlery, are made from fossil fuels. After a short useful life of approximately 20 minutes, conventional disposable foodservice items will most likely end up in landfill where it will take decades to breakdown, releasing greenhouse gases in the process. BioPak offer a range of more sustainable alternative cold cups and bowls, cutlery and bags made from bioplastic – an innovative plant-based plastic. Just like traditional plastic cups with lids, our clear cups and bowls are perfectly clear and sturdy, performing excellently when serving cold food and drinks. Bioplastic is compostable in a commercial facility. Plus, the carbon footprint of producing bioplastic is up to 75 percent smaller than conventional plastics such as PET.

WOOD

Our Wooden BioCutlery is made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Birchwood. FSC is the industry benchmark for sustainably managed wood and wooden products. The factory has ISO-9001 Quality Management System and Food Safety ISO 22000 certifications. All products are carbon neutral.
